Bihar Museum Society Recruitment 2014-15 For Selection of Various Posts

Bihar Museum Society, Patna, an autonomous organization under the Department of Art, Culture and Youth, Government of Bihar. With the recent announcement from the Society there is a notification for filling up various competent positions in the Bihar Museum.

Pay Scale and Remunerations:

• Additional Director: The candidates selected for these posts will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 And a Grade Pay of Rs.7600
• Deputy Director: The candidates selected for these posts will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 And a Grade Pay of Rs.6600
• Manager (IT): The candidates selected for this post will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 And a Grade Pay of Rs.6600

• Manager (Exhibition & Production), Senior Chemist, Accountants Officer & Curator: The candidates selected for these posts will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 And a Grade Pay of Rs.5400
• Manager (HR), Manager (Facility) & Chief of Security: The candidates selected for these posts will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 And a Grade Pay of Rs.4800
• Accountant, PA, Librarian & Coordinator (Children & Family Program): The candidates selected for these posts will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 And a Grade Pay of Rs.4200

• Coordinator (Visitor Services): The candidates selected for this post will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 And a Grade Pay of Rs.2400
• Apart from that they will also be entitled to receive other perks and benefits as per rules of Bihar Museum Service.

Academic Requirements & Age:

• Additional Director (Antiquity/ Collection, Research & Publication): The candidates must have M.A. in Ancient Indian History/ Archaeology/ Culture or Ancient Indian & Asian Studies or M.A. in Museology and must have at least 5 years’ experience as Curator/ Deputy Director in a museum of repute. Ph.D. in Art/ Archaeology/ History/ or other related subject is desirable. Must not exceed 50 years of maximum age.
• Deputy Director  (Research): The candidates must have Post Graduate Degree in History/ Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology/ Ancient Indian & Asian Studies. Must have PhD in concerned subjects. The candidates must have 8 years working experience in a museum of repute or 5 years working experience as Curator in a museum of repute. Computer skills supported with Degree/Diploma/Certificate is desirable. Must not exceed 50 years of maximum age.
• Deputy Director  (Marketing & Public Relation): The candidates must have Master Degree in Management (Marketing) or equivalent / Master Degree in Public Relation. Must have 5 (five) years working experience in the field of Marketing/Public Relation in Government / PSU/ reputed Private Sector Company. Computer skills supported with Degree/Diploma/Certificate is desirable for these posts. Must not exceed 50 years of maximum age.
• Manager (IT): The candidates must have completed B.Tech. in (Computer Science/ IT) and should preferably have Global Certification in Data Base Management System. Must have 5 (five) years working experience as IT Manager or similar other field in Government / PSU or Private Sector Company and preferably should have 3 years working experience in Collection Management of a Museum/ Institute/ Organization with more than 2500 antiquities / art objects/ objects of antiquarian value. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• Manager (Exhibition & Production): The candidates must have completed Master Degree in Management (Production/Event)/ PGDM in Hospitality from Institution of repute. Must have 4 (four) years working experience in same capacity in Government / PSU or Private Sector and should preferably have Working experience in Museum/ similar other Institution/Organization working in Heritage Sector. Must have Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• Curator (i. Archaeology, ii. History): The candidates must have completed M.A. in Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology/ Ancient Indian & Asian Studies/ History with Ancient Indian History as Special Paper/ Archaeology. Strong Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, supported with Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate. PhD is desirable for these posts in the relevant subjects. The candidates are expected to have 3 (three) years working experience in a museum of repute (having collection of at least 5000 Antiquities/Art Objects). Must not exceed 40 years of maximum age.
• Manager (Human Resource): The candidates must have completed Master Degree in Management (Human Resource)/ PGDM in Human Resource/ Master Degree in Public Administration. Must have 3 (three) years working experience in same capacity in Government / PSU or Private Sector. Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Computer Application & Working experience in Museum/ similar other Institution/ Organization is desirable. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• Manager (Facility): The candidates must have completed Master Degree in Management (Hospitality)/ PGDM in Hospitality. Must have 3 (three) years working experience in same capacity in Government / PSU or Private Sector. Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Computer Application & Working experience in Museum/ similar other Institution/ Organization is desirable. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• Senior Chemist: The candidates must have completed Master Degree in Conservation/ Post-Graduation with Chemistry as one of the subjects, along with Diploma or Certificate in Conservation of Art Objects from NRLC/ Degree in Conservation of Antiquities, Art Objects or Objects of antiquarian value from National Museum Institute. Must have 5 (five) years working experience as Conservator in a museum of repute/ with Archeological Survey of India/ Firms or NGOs, dealing in conservation of Art objects. Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Computer Application & 3 years working experience in Collection Management of a Museum/ Institute/ Organization is desirable. Must not exceed 40 years of maximum age.
• Accountants Officer: The candidates must have completed B.Com/ B.A. (Economics) along with Strong Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, along with ‘Tally’ or other Account Operation related software, supported with Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate. Must have 7 years working experience in a firm/organization of repute in similar capacity. Knowledge of Office Automation, supported with Diploma/Certificate is desirable. Must not exceed 40 years of maximum age.
• Chief of Security: The candidates must have completed Graduation from recognized University. Must have 5 (Five) years working experience in same capacity in Govt./ Semi-Govt./ PSU or Private Sector Company. Certificate from NCC & Fluent English Speaking and writing is desirable along with experience in defense service. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age. Physical Standards applicable.
• Accountant: The candidates must have completed B.Com/ B.A. (Economics)/ BSc (Statistics) along with Strong Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, along with ‘Tally’ or other Account Operation related software, supported with Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate. Must have 3 years working experience in a firm/organization of repute in similar capacity. Knowledge of Office Automation, supported with Diploma/Certificate is desirable. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• PA: The candidates must have completed Graduate, preferably in History/Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology/ Ancient Indian & Asian Studies. Must have strong Computer skills, supported with Degree/Diploma/Certificate with knowledge of shorthand. Must have 3 years working experience in a firm/organization of repute in similar capacity. Knowledge of Office Automation, supported with Diploma/Certificate is desirable. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• Librarian: The candidates must have completed M.A. in Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology/ Ancient Indian & Asian Studies/ History with Ancient Indian History as Special Paper/ Archaeology. Also must have Degree in Library Science along with strong Computer skills, supported with Degree/Diploma/Certificate. Must have 3 years working experience in a Library of repute (having collection of at least 15000 books/ manuscripts). Working experience in a museum of repute in capacity of Asst. Librarian / working with Library Management related software is desirable. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• Coordinator (Children & Family Program): The candidates must have completed Post Graduate Degree in Public Relation. Must have 2 years working experience of similar nature. Working experience Museum/NGO/Organization having collection of antiquities/ art objects/ objects of antiquarian value and open to public is desirable. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.
• Coordinator (Visitor Services): The candidates interested for these positions must have completed Graduate Degree in Public Relation and must have at least 6 months experience in similar service. Computer skills supported with Degree/Diploma/Certificate and Working experience Museum/NGO/Organization having collection of antiquities/art objects/objects of antiquarian value and open to public is desirable. Must not exceed 37 years of maximum age.

Criteria for Selection:

• The candidates will be selected through a Written Examination (if desired) and a Personal interview.

c)   It should be noted that the downloaded application form must have been reprinted exact copy of the application form as available on the website

e)   Photographs must be glued to the application form at appropriate spaces and must be signed crossed as if a part of signature must be on the photograph and other part on the application form
