Assam Gas Company Ltd. is a Govt. of Assam Undertaking incorporated in the year 1962 in Shillong as a company wholly owned by the Government of Assam. Catering to business related to natural gas in India, the Assam Gas was the first gas transportation business started in the year 1967 with supply of natural gas to Namrup Thermal Power Station. Subsequently, the company grew from strength to strength and stands today as one of the premier natural gas distribution companies in India.

Assam Gas Company Ltd. has a network of underground natural gas trunk and distribution pipelines that serves about 350 tea estates, 400 commercial establishments, about 20,000 domestic consumers and several big industrial consumers in the districts of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat and Cachar in Assam. It has its present headquarters in the oil town of Duliajan in the district of Dibrugarh, Assam. The Company has a capacity to transport 5.5 MMSCMD of natural gas. Over the years AGCL has established branch offices in 14 (fourteen) different locations in Assam.

With the recent announcement from the Assam Gas, it is inviting competent applications for eligible and experienced professionals to join in its team as Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET), Management Trainee (MT), Senior Officers, Senior Accounts Officer and Senior Engineer.

The details of the vacancies and the criteria of eligibility to apply for these positions are detailed as under.

• Graduate Engineer Trainee (Mechanical): 02 Posts

• Graduate Engineer Trainee (Electronics & Telecommunication): 01 Post
• Graduate Engineer Trainee (Instrumentation): 01 Post
• Management Trainee (HR & A): 01 Post
• Senior Officer (HR & A): 01 Post
• Senior Accounts Officer: 03 Posts
• Senior Engineer: 01 Post

Educational Eligibility:

• Graduate Engineer Trainee (Mechanical): The applicants must have completed BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering. Although experience is not mandatory for these posts, candidates having 2 years post-qualification experience in concerned disciplines may be considered for regular employment in E-1 Cadre.

• Graduate Engineer Trainee (Electronics & Telecommunication): The applicants must have completed BE/BTech in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Although experience is not mandatory for these posts, candidates having 2 years post-qualification experience in concerned disciplines may be considered for regular employment in E-1 Cadre. Candidates possessing experience in areas like SCADA operations will be preferred.
• Graduate Engineer Trainee (Instrumentation): The applicants must have completed BE/BTech in Instrumentation Engineering. Although experience is not mandatory for these posts, candidates having 2 years post-qualification experience in concerned disciplines may be considered for regular employment in E-1 Cadre. Candidates possessing experience in areas like SCADA operations will be preferred.
• Management Trainee (HR & A): The applicants must have completed 2(two) years Full-Time MBA with specialization in Human Resource/ Personnel Management. Although experience is not mandatory for these posts, candidates having 2 years (or more) post-qualification experience in HR / Personnel may be considered for regular employment in E-1 Cadre as Officer (HR & A).
• Senior Officer (HR & A): The applicants must have completed 2 (two) years Full-Time MBA with specialization in Human Resource/ Personnel Management. The candidates must have at least 5 years (or more) post-qualification executive experience in PSU/ Large Private Sector in HR/ Personnel Administration. Candidates having experience in Training & Development will be preferred for these posts.
• Senior Accounts Officer: The applicants must have completed CA/ ICWA. The candidates must have at least 5 years (or more) post-qualification executive experience in PSU/ Large Private Sector in Finance/ Accounts related works.

• Senior Engineer: The applicants must have completed BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering. The candidates must have at least 5 years (or more) post-qualification executive experience in PSU/ Large Private Sector in Technical discipline.

Pay Scale:

• Graduate Engineer Trainee & Management Trainee: The candidates selected for these positions will be offered a monthly stipend of Rs.25000 per month along with other admissible allowances from Assam Gas.
• Sr. Officer/ Sr. Accounts Officer/ Sr. Engineer: The candidates selected for these positions will be offered a monthly emolument in the scale of E-02 in PB-IV in the range of Rs.12000 – Rs.40000 with a Grade Pay of Rs.6300 per month along with other admissible allowances from Assam Gas.

Criteria with respect to Age:

1. Graduate Engineer Trainee & Management Trainee: All candidates should not have exceeded a maximum age of 30 years as on 01-June-2014.
2. Sr. Officer/ Sr. Accounts Officer/ Sr. Engineer: All candidates should not have exceeded a maximum age of 35 years as on 01-June-2014.
3. In case of Sc, ST, PWD, Ex-SM and Departmental candidates the age relaxation will be applicable as per company norms

Selection Methodology:

1. The selection will be based on i) Written Test, and ii) Personal Interview as per the discretion of Assam Gas
2. The candidates will have to qualify at each stage separately and in aggregate will be selected on a Merit Ranking basis.
