Army recruitment office was established in August 1948 at Cuttack having jurisdiction area of ten coastal districts of Odisa undertake recruitment activities for local youth of Odisa in Indian Army. ARO conducts screening of 75000 to 9000 candidates every year through Army recruitment rallies. After each rally various other examinations and test are conducted by ARO to select suitable candidates for various posts of India Army.
In continuation of same process, ARO of Odisa announced Army recruitment rally from 04 Jan 2013 to 10 Jan 2013 at Cuttack. Candidates must report till 07.00 hrs, other-way will not be allowed to appear in recruitment rally. Suitable candidates will be selected from rally for the post of soldier in Indian Army. However, final selection of candidates will be made after written exam, medical exam etc.
Recruitment Details:
ARO of Cuttack has announced vacancies for various posts. These vacancies are for post of Solider GD, Soldier GD (ST), Soldier Technical, Soldier Technical (Aviation)/ Soldier Technical (Ammunition Examiner), Soldier Nursing assistant and Soldier clerk / store keeper. All enrollment of suitable candidates will be made in Indian Army after Recruitment rally followed by CEE and medical test.
Eligibility Criteria:
A Candidate should not be born after 4 July 1995 (Maximum Age) for all trades and should not be born before 4 Jan 1990 (minimum age) in case they are willing to be recruited for post other than Soldier General Duty and Soldier general duty (Schedule Tribe) for which candidate should not be born before 4 Jan 1992.
Educational qualification for each posts are different. Educational qualification varies according to post and relaxation applied as per government norms and regulations.
Physical Standards:
Also, physical standards will be taken into account during screening process. These standards are
1- 1600 meter Run : candidates require to qulify 1600 meter run in maximum 6.20 Minutes. Marks will be allotted according to time taken by candidate. For candidates who will complete 1600 meter run in less than 5.40 minutes will be given 60Mraks.
2- Beam (Pull Ups) : candidates require to qulify this test with minimum 6 pull ups. A candidate having more than 10 pull ups will be given 40 marks.
3- Balance : Candidates require to only qulify this test.
4- 9 Feet Ditch : candidates required to qualify but no marks will be awarded.
Height, weight and Chest Standards:
For category other than soldier clerk / store keeper, candidate should have height – 169cm, weight -50kg, and chest – 77/82 cms. However for candidates of scheduled tribe and candidates of ex-servicemen etc, there is relaxation.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates appearing in Army recruitment rally at Cuttack will be undergone rough height and prelim documentation check, physical fitness test, documentation check and medical exam. Only candidates who will meet minimum standards of height, weight and chest will be shortlisted for further process of recruitment. For details of standards, Candidates can visit official website.

Recruitment rally and Physical Test:
Recruitment rally is scheduled from 4 Jan 2013 to 10 Jan 2013. This will cover screening of candidates for different post covering various districts. This schedule will cover all physical tests.
Written Exam Schedule
Successful candidates of medical examination will be eligible to appear written examination (CEE) as per date and time mentioned in issued admit card and will be finally selected for Indian Army.
Sample question papers for CEE will be given to successful candidates so that they can prepare for examination. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. Each wrong answer will be awarded half negative marks. However, any question not answered by candidate and left blank will be awarded zero marks.
CEE Schedule:
- 24 Feb 2013 – Common entrance test will be conducted for all eligible candidates except soldier (clerk/ store keeper) and soldier (Nursing Assistant)
- 03- April 2013 -A test will be conducted for soldier (Nursing Assistant) in Kolkata. This test will be computer based entrance test.
- 28 april 2013- CEE for all other candidates will be conducted at Cuttack
Result:
The result will be declared within two to three weeks from date of written examination (CEE).
How to Apply:
Candidates seeking career in Indian Army as Soldier should attend recruitment rally on scheduled date 04 Jan 2013 (Friday) in Cuttack. Schedule of recruitment rally and presence of candidates at such rally with documents is only process to get selected. Candidates are advised to check schedule of rally according to their district. After screening process in rally by qualifying physical, medical and written exam, candidates will be recruited to Indian Army. It is advised not to pay any fees to anyone as it absolutely free recruitment of India Army.
