Allahabad High Court is one of the oldest courts of justice and is acting as the supreme authority for safekeeping law in the state of Uttar Pradesh. With the present notification, The Allahabad High Court invites Online Applications for 327 positions of Stenographers (Grade-III) and 1060 positions of Grade-IV posts in various District Courts under its jurisdiction.
The details of the vacancies and the criteria for eligibility are as under:
Vital Dates to reckon for:
- Starting Date of Online Submission of Application: 21-Aug-2014
- Last Date of Online Submission of Application: 12-Sep-2014
- Date for payment of Application Fees: from 21-Aug-2014 till 13-Sep-2014
- Date for downloading of e-Admit Cards: from 17-Sep-2014 till 26-Sep-2014
- Date of Examination: 27-Sep-2014
Name of the Vacancy & Number of Positions:
- Stenographer Grade III (Category ‘C’): 327 Posts
- Category ‘D’ (Tube well Operator-cum-Electrician/Process Server/ Orderly/ Peon/ Chowkidar/ Waterman/ Sweeper/ Sweeper-cum-Farrash): 1060 Posts
Note: Reservation for these posts will be applicable as per the state government rules
Pay band for the Positions:
- Stenographer Grade III (Category ‘C’): The candidates selected for the job positions will receive emoluments in the scale of PB-I in the order of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs.2800 per month.
- Category ‘D’ (Tube well Operator-cum-Electrician/Process Server/ Orderly/ Peon/ Chowkidar/ Waterman/ Sweeper): The candidates selected for the job positions will receive emoluments in the scale of PB-I in the order of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs.1800 per month.
- Category ‘D’ (Sweeper-cum-Farrash): The candidates selected for the job positions will receive a consolidated emolument of Rs.2000 per month.
- Any other allowances and perks as per the discretion of the Hon’ble High Court.
Minimum Essential Qualification:
- Stenographer Grade III (Category ‘C’) (for Hindi Steno): The candidates applying for the job position must have passed Graduation with Diploma or Certificate in Stenography with a speed of 80 w.p.m. In shorthand and 30 w.p.m. in Typing both in Hindi along with CCC certificate issued By DOEACC Society and 25/30 words per minute for Hindi/English Typewriting on Computer.
- Stenographer Grade III (Category ‘C’) (for English Steno): The candidates applying for the job position must have passed Graduation with Diploma or Certificate in Stenography with a speed of 100 w.p.m. in shorthand and 40 w.p.m. in Typing both in English along with CCC certificate issued By DOEACC Society and 25/30 words per minute for Hindi/English Typewriting on Computer.
- Category ‘D’ (Except Sweeper-cum-Farrash): The candidates applying for the job position must have passed Junior High School level along with required competency certificate from an ITI. For the posts of Tube Well Operator-cum-Electrician, the candidates must have a valid driving license.
- Category ‘D’ (Sweeper-cum-Farrash): The candidates applying for the job position must have passed Standard-V level of education.
Age criteria:
- The candidates applying for the positions must have attained a minimum age of 18 years and should not have exceeded the max age of 40 years as on 1-July-2014.
- However relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per norms.
Application fees:
- For Stenographer Grade-III:
- For General/ OBC and other state candidates: Rs.750
- For SC/ST candidates from UP only: Rs.500
- For Grade-IV:
- For General/ OBC and other state candidates: Rs.500
- For SC/ST candidates from UP only: Rs.350
- The fees can be remitted through ONLINE PAYMENT with Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net banking mode OR, through a fee payment challan at any nearest branch of State Bank of India.
Selection Procedure:
- For making selection, competence would be judged on the basis of a Written Examination followed by Skill Test (Typing/ other job specific aspects).
- Care will be taken to make the selection fair with merit performance basis only.

- The candidates are advised to fill in authentic details carefully during the Online submission of applications
- At least 6 Nos recent passport size photographs (as uploaded during Online Submission of Application) must be kept with the candidates for future use.

- No physical copy of the application is required to be sent to the Allahabad High Court at this moment.
