AAI, North-Eastern Region, Guwahati invites applications for Senior Assistant (Raj Bhasha)

Airport Authority of India (AAI) is the single organization in India for creation, up-gradation, maintenance and management of Civil Aviation in India both in the air space and ground duties. This organization is intended for formation, construction, management of passenger and cargo airport terminals and maintenance of operation of air transportation all over India and pan-nations. AAI has been entrusted as a ‘MiniRatna’ category of Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in India. As its guardian of North-Eastern front, the Regional Executive Director, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati is the Chief Office-In-Command for all the responsibilities and duties of the AAI in the north-eastern sector of India.

In continuation to the fill up the vacancies for Senior Assistant (Raj Bhasha) the Regional Executive Director, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, invites application from competent individuals.

The details of the vacancies are as underneath:

Post to be applied for: Senior Assistant – Raj Bhasha (वरिष्ठ सहायकराजभाषा) NE-6

Grade of Post:   Grade- C

Number of Vacancies: 01

Category of Vacancy: Un-Reserved

Scale of Pay: Rs.14,500 – Rs. 33,500

Apart from the basic pay structure, the selected candidate will be eligible for other benefits like, TA, DA, HRA, Medical reimbursement, LTC, Gratuity, PF, Leave-Encashment, etc. as per the norms of Airport Authority of India.

Last date of Application: 30-05-2012 (30th of May 2012)

Age limit (As on 30-05-2012): 30 years

As this position is intended for Un-Reserved category only, there will be no privilege of any additional age relaxation for scheduled categories like SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWDs.  This will not be taken into consideration, even if the candidate belonging any such category. However, a candidate may attach the photocopies of such certificates along with his/ her application form.

Qualification and Experience:

Educational Qualification:

The candidate applying for the post should preferably have a Graduation in English with Post-Graduation in Hindi or A Graduation in Hindi with a Post-Graduation in English


Should have Post-Graduation in any other subject apart from Hindi/ English, with Hindi/ English as an optional/ compulsory subject in the Graduation level from any recognized University.


Post-Graduation in any other subject from a recognized University along with English as a compulsory/ option subject if the examination appeared through Hindi medium or Hindi as a compulsory/ optional subject if the medium of examination is in English.


Post-Graduation in any other subject from a recognized University along with Hindi/ English as a compulsory/ optional subject or, either of the subjects as the medium of examination, or as a compulsory/ optional subject and a Diploma in English-to-Hindi or Hindi-to-English Translation from a recognized Institution, or 2 years experience as a Hindi-to-English / English-to-Hindi Translator in any division / office under the Central/ State Government.


The candidates applying for this post are expected to have proficiency in Hindi type-writing.

Selection Procedure:

The selection will be base upon the performance of the candidate on written test, trade test (Hindi Typing) and personal interview. The most competent candidate as per merit will be offered preference for joining this post.

General Instructions:

i)             The candidates will be eligible for extra benefits with basic salary like TA, DA, HRA, LTC, Leave Encashment, Gratuity, PF and others as per the norms of Airport Authority of India.

ii)            All documents and certificates in respect of educational qualification should be issued from any recognized University, AICTE or by the Central/ State board.

iii)           The candidature of an applicant will be summarily rejected, if there is any discrepancy found in the name, age, educational qualification, and other such details mentioned on the application form against which, sufficient proof cannot be rendered by the candidate.

iv)           For applicants claiming benefits under any special section, should attach the certificate issued from the competent authority as a support of claim under that section.

v)            A candidate is expected to be a resident of any state of the North-Eastern region. The candidate applying for this post should provide a domicile certificate along with the application form, issued from a competent authority, in this regard.

vi)           The reference date with respect to age, qualification and experience will be 30-05-2012.

vii)          None of the candidates will be eligible for any relaxation with respect to age, qualification of experience under the scheduled categories of ST/ ST/ OBC/ PWD.

viii)         Applicants in service under the central / state administration/ undertaking should invariably apply ‘Through Proper Channel’ and should offer a ‘No Objection Certificate’ in continuation to their candidature.

ix)           Candidates who do not have certificate of requisite qualification on the date of application, their candidature will be accepted under the condition that they should obtain such certificate from their respective authorities before the date of written test / personal interview.

x)            Applications received after the due date, will be summarily rejected and no claim against postal delay, non-receipt of call letter, missing of call letter will be accepted by the Airport Authority of India. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

xi)           Any application received without signature of the candidate/ improperly filled / partially complete / without photograph of the candidate, will be summarily rejected and no further correspondence again this will be entertained.

xii)          Any form of external influence, canvassing will be considered as a serious offence and the candidature will be declared ineligible and rejected.

xiii)         The written test and interview for the above mentioned post will be conducted in Guwahati, Assam.

xiv)        Airport Authority of India reserves the right to change any information provided on this notification and alter any condition of selection and the number of vacancies as stated in this notification.

xv)         The decision of the Selection Committee will be final and binding on the candidate.

xvi)        Airport Authority of India reserves the right to enhance or reduce the number of vacancies as and when required in case of non-availability of suitable candidature.

How to Apply:

  1. Candidates satisfying all the above conditions may apply for the above mentioned post in English/ Hindi in the prescribed format of application as available on the website of the Airport Authority of India at www.aai.aero or www.airportsindia.org.in.
  2. Each application should accompany a Demand Draft for Rs.100 (Rupees One Hundred only) in favor of The Regional Executive Director, North-Eastern Region, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati.
  3. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST / Women categories are not required to enclose any application fee along with the application form.
  4. The demand draft should be prepared on or before 30-05-2012 in favor of the address mentioned above.
  5. The application form should contain the name of the post being applied for on the envelop, invariably.
  6. The application should be complete in all respect, or otherwise considered as rejected.


  1. The demand draft for Rs.100 (except for SC/ ST/ Women) as per the details mentioned above
  2. 4 passport size, recent photograph out of which one has to be attested on the front and pasted to the application form at the place mentioned and the remaining 3 to be attested in the back and stapled to the application form.
  3. Certificates in support of claiming benefits as special categories
  4. Certificated in support of age, date of birth, educational qualification, or any other special consideration (wherever applicable).
All candidates whether in Government Service or in Government owned undertaking or other similar organizations/ Corporations/ Boards/ Bodies or in private employments should forward his/ her application through his/ her Controlling Officer/ Employer.
