AFCAT 2013 Notification – Air Force Recruitment 2013 For Male Candidates

Indian Air Force (IAF) invites application from male candidates for the post of Commissioned Officer Vacancies for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent / Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty Branches.

  • FLYING BRANCH

(a) No. 13 Short Service Commission (13 SSC) Course

  • TECHNICAL BRANCH

(a) No. 84 Aeronautical Engineers (84 AEC) Course (Permanent Commission)

(b) No. 56 Short Service Commission (56 SSC) Course

  • GROUND DUTY BRANCHES

(a) No. 135 Ground Duty Officers’ (135 GDOC) Course (Permanent Commission)

(b) No. 28 Short Service Commission (28 SSC) Course

Age Limit: As on January 01, 2014

  • For Flying branch: Minimum 19 years and maximum 23 years
  • For Technical Branch: Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years
  •  For Ground Duty Branches: Minimum 20 years and maximum 27 years

Type of Commission: Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission

Pay and Allowances:

  • Flying Branch: Rs 63,694/-
  • Technical Branch: Rs 54,944/-
  • Ground Duty Branches: Rs 52,444/

Educational Qualification: 

  • For Flying branch:

Graduation (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline minimum 60% marks and have passed Math and Physics at 10+2 level OR BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

  • For Technical Branch:

Aeronautical Engg ((Electronics and Mechanical) with a minimum  of  four  year  degree  qualification  from  a recognized University  or  cleared  Sections A and  B  examination  of Associate  Membership  of  Institution  of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society  of  India or Graduate membership  examination  of  the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies

  • For Ground Duty branches:

Administration & Logistic Branch: Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or a Post Graduate Degree / equivalent Diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks

Accounts Branch: Graduate Degree in Commerce (B Com)(Minimum three year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks or Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (MCom) / CA/ ICWA  with a minimum of 50% marks

Education Branch: Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

Duration of Training:

  • For Flying and Technical Branches: 74 weeks
  • For Ground Duty Branches: 52 weeks

Selection Process: 

Selection process will be based on the performance in AFCAT followed by Stage- I Test including Intelligence Test and after that Stage – II testing including, Psychological Test, Group Test, and Interview conducted by Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs).

Note: For Flying Branch candidates must appear for Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) after Stage-II testing would be administered based on their choice of branch/eligibility.
